Mini skirt and lips

Contrary to what you may have conceived in your corrupted little mind, and I know the title sounds like a catch-phrase for liposuction and botox :P However, there will be multiple updates today as I've not done so for ever such a long time. So bear with me whilst I blabber on...

About two weeks ago, I brought the Silver Banana over to Soon at Mansion II after he'd called up about putting me up with a surround to complete the looks. So I dropped the SB off for Soon to work his magic and after a couple of hours, all modifications and mouldings were done up and the skirts were ready for masking and paint.

Mark and I were there to perform the masking and painting... He did the masking (which was tough due to the curves), and I did the grinding down and painting. Which turned out quite sucessful except for a few areas that needed putty.

Once we were done with the paint and everything was glossy and shiny, Soon got to work to install the skirts. These were done without rivets or screws as I'd requested not to drill holes in the chassis. As usual, Soon did a fantastic job... This dude is gifted, I tell ya!

Rear shot of my banged up bumper... Again, I'd just like to say I hate bikes. Or at least those that like to ride fast and can't control their machines.

As customary after every visit to the fiberworks shop, it's time to wash down the Silver Banana. It was whence I'd realise that the Silver Banana is indeed a huge ass mutha'tucker. Time to downsize methinks... *mind churns*... *evil grin*

However, a week down the road and there was unanimous vote to add in canards to the fiber concoction already present. So Soon got to measuring and conjuring me up a set of whiskers.
Installed and looks excellent. Just for looks though... Hehehe...
As I was beginning to think that we were complete, my mech (and main advisor) Fer had a brilliant stroke of imagination and suggested more items!

As previously mentioned (click here to read), an addition will be made to fill the gap at my grille. Whilst we had installed the new grille fixture, it was raining out and the Silver Banana was already in the shop for ammendments to be made. I thought, "why not spray paint it ourselves?". And so we did.

The materials used were essentially masking tape (duh!), a can of RM5 Anchor spray paint, lots of newspaper and a couple of drinks.
Masking was the first to be done up and it was real nice and proper. EVERYTHING has to be covered unless you wanna spend the next few hours detailing painting flash with a small brush and paint thinner.

I'd roughed up and sanded down the lower lip and proceeded to paint. *shiny*

A friend, Kumar (no Harold around though), from the neighbouring factory where I worked, dropped by and aided to touch up the grille coz my painting sucked and he does paint touch ups for a living :P Free drinks and ciggies were warranted...

We eventually pulled the masking off along with some paint and lacquer (dang old paint needs refreshing) so I got Tommy of Tommax Stickers to cut me up a piece of "plaster" to cover it up from further peeling.

Kumar's touch up did wonders in matching the tone to my ori (albeit faded and chipped) paint.

A very decent job done if I do say so myself... With the help of Kumar of course. Thanks for the fantastic touch up job.

Who was to drop by later that evening but Philip with his immaculately kept Toyota Corolla LE. It's so well kept that the wiring labels can still be read and in their original plastic cradles!

He had gotten a bit bored of the outlook and started to revamp his ride almost a year ago, collecting bits and pieces and he now has electric folding side mirrors, Corolla SE bumpers, JDM grille and bonnet, and a wonderful engine.

Finally dropping by Mansion II for some "bodybuilding" before proceeding to paint.

I did say it had a sweet engine right? A symphony orchestrated by Yamaha and Toyota! Simply be-au-ti-fulll......

Kudos to a well kept car, and majorly successful revamp! Can't wait to see the painted beaut...

Stiff Lip~!

It was a sunny albeit boring Saturday afternoon and Soon and I were just lazing at Mansion II after having our lunch. There were a multitude of tasks but we were just too lazy to move. Then Soon suddenly got up from his seat, grabbed his drink and L&M in one hand and a lower front lip in the other.

Fitting ensued with much chatter in his usual jovial manner. Lo and behold, after telling me for months that there are no front skirt (lips) for the Perdana, he'd just got his rusty gears cranking and lit up a bloody-big-lightbulb!

Plans were made and modifications and final fitment was to be on Monday evening. We both went home feeling mighty satisfied that night, him for finally thinking it up, and I, just glad that he did :P

Monday evening came past the longest day at work I'd ever had. Time seemed to crawl and grind to a painfully, weary trudge. The clock struck 6p.m. and I was off like a rocket! I made it to Mansion II just in time as Soon was just finishing up a job at hand.

My first bit of outlook modification courtesy of Mansion II, much thanks to Soon and Vincent for a great job done. I love the extra little flare you guys had put in!

I'm still hesitant, though, on what color I should paint this little addition. A smooth satin black for the racer-boy look or a flowing metallic silver for the OEM take? Any ideas? Do drop me a comment.
